Welcome to the New Frontier
If you’ve been watching Cross The Ages quietly over time, you might have sensed a shift in the winds. Earlier this year, the team quietly set in motion a migration from Immutable X to Solana—and now, that shift is officially here. But this isn’t just a technical move behind the scenes. It’s a transformation of how the game will feel, play, and scale for everyone—especially newcomers.
Why Solana? And Why Now
Immutable X has served Cross The Ages well, but as the pace of change accelerates—both for CTA’s card gameplay and its wider universe—the team decided to lean into Solana’s strengths: high throughput, lower transaction costs, and deeper possibilities for real-time interaction.
- Owning cards, transacting, minting—they’ll all happen more fluidly, with fewer friction points.
- Some older systems (like “Forge”) are being removed or reworked to simplify.
- Once migrated, cards will carry a unified visual style: all newly minted assets adopt the new Season 4 border, giving cohesion across the game.
The migration isn’t a mere “backend switch”—it’s a reset of expectations, designed to let the next wave of players enter CTA without stumbling over tech hurdles.
What Changes for You: Cards, Rarity & Flex’s Farewell
One of the more dramatic changes involves card classes and rarities:
- Flex cards, long a source of confusion (for new and veteran players alike), are being retired. As of Season 4, you’ll only see Static and Eternal cards in active circulation.
- Cards that used to live under “Exclusive” (primarily investor / team holdings) are now being recast under a brand-new rarity: Divine.
- Some cards on the old chain will be “frozen” and then re-minted via the Portal in the migration. The team is aiming to make that process as seamless as possible.
The idea is to simplify, unify, and make card ownership cleaner—no more chasing legacy quirks.
A Safer, Fairer Ecosystem
With Solana comes new systems to lock out abuses and reward real engagement:
- Eternal Multiplier: This boosts how much Trisel (the core in-game reward currency) you earn based on your Eternal card collections. It means that building up your library actually pays off.
- The Forge system (used for upgrades) is going away—some of its functions are being replaced with more transparent cost structures.
- Card rental mechanics are now in the pipeline: owners will be able to rent their cards to others, opening up access for new players who want to experiment without heavy investment.
- To encourage early migration, CTA rewarded players who completed their move before kick-off with special cards and entries into Unique draws.
In short, the move is about more than just blockchain—it’s about building a cleaner foundation for equity, access, and long-term engagement.
What You Should Do Now
- If you own CTA cards or tokens: check your Portal for migration instructions. Don’t let assets stay frozen on IMX longer than necessary.
- Expect a unified visual upgrade: when you mint new or re-minted cards, they’ll carry the new Season 4 border.
- Flex just retires. If you held Flex cards, understand they’ll convert into Static versions (or otherwise be absorbed) before Season 4 fully launches.
- Keep an eye on updates from CTA—some transitions will be phased and guided to reduce risk for users.
In short, Cross The Ages is stepping into a new chapter—one where the tech, the economy, and the game experience are all aligned. Your cards matter more, your path in is smoother, and the playing field is being leveled.
Let’s see how this new era unfolds.
